Under what circumstances can an associate a Walmart carry a store radio?

I've been working at Walmart for over 9 months now and have never carried one of the walkie talkies they use. I've noticed other non-management associates using them, and have used one on a few occasions, but would like to be able to carry one myself because they would be useful when trying to find the ever-elusive managers (It's a big store and they can be ANYWHERE). Would I, as an overnight associate, be allowed to carry one?
